Business park signage is a different discipline

What Farnborough asks us for leans commercial rather than retail, and the town explains why. Alongside the town centre there is a large corporate and aerospace estate, with Farnborough Business Park, the airport and exhibition site, and Cody Technology Park all operating as managed multi building campuses.

Signage on that kind of site is a system rather than a single item. A visitor arriving by car needs to find the right building from the entrance, then the right door, then the right floor, and every one of those decisions is a separate sign that has to agree with the others. Get one wrong and reception spends the day redirecting people.

Working to somebody else's brand manual

Most corporate work in Farnborough arrives with a brand manual attached, or with an existing scheme that a new building has to match. That is straightforward for us because we manufacture rather than resell: we can match a specified colour, hold the specification across a phased rollout, and reprint a single panel two years later to the same spec.

Where it goes wrong is when the original supplier has gone, the artwork has been lost, and a replacement panel has to be reverse engineered from a photograph. We can do that, and we would rather do it from a proper survey than from a phone picture.

A managed business park will not let an unaccredited installer onto site, and much of this work is at height on building elevations rather than at ground level. Our fitters hold CSCS, IPAF and PASMA accreditation, covering site competence, powered access and mobile access towers.
