Signs We Manufacture
Smart Signs Group was formed in 2008 from two sign companies, TTC Signs in Bracknell and Sigma Signs UK in Southampton. Our workshop on Longshot Lane is where the design studio, the large format printers and the fabrication bench sit. Using a range of fabrication techniques on industry-leading machinery, we make everything from a single door sign to a coordinated scheme for a whole site, and our own team handles the sign installation.
Fascia panels and sign trays
Powder-coated aluminium trays that return around the edges of the fascia, composite panels, and new faces for existing trays and lightboxes where the frame is still sound. See our shop front signs.
Totems, monoliths and directory boards
Freestanding signs for site entrances and car parks, and tenant directory boards for business parks, built so every unit name sits in one consistent scheme. See our commercial signs.
Hoarding graphics and banners

HOW IT WORKS
How Your Sign Is Made
Survey and visual
We survey the site, or work from your photographs and measurements if you would rather not wait. Our design team then lays the sign over a photograph of your building, so you approve something that looks like the finished result before anything is cut or printed.
Made in Bracknell
Manufacture happens in our Bracknell workshop on industry-leading machinery. That is what lets us match a specific brand colour, cut a shape that is not on anyone's standard list, or reproduce an existing sign where the original artwork is long gone. For multi-site work we print the whole batch together in one run, which keeps colour identical across every location.
Fitted by the people who made it
Our own fitters install what the workshop builds, with CSCS, IPAF and PASMA accreditation for site work and work at height. Read more about our sign installation service.

Materials We Work With
Aluminium and composite panels hold their finish outdoors, and powder-coated aluminium is the usual choice for exterior fascias and trays. Acrylic gives crisp, deep lettering and diffuses light evenly on illuminated work, stainless steel suits premium built-up letters, and printed or cut vinyl is used for graphics, windows and vehicles. We will recommend materials to suit the location, the budget and how long the sign needs to last.

Fitting and access
Size and the number of signs set the starting point. Illumination turns a printed panel into a fabricated assembly with LEDs and cabling, and powder-coated aluminium and stainless steel sit well above acrylic and composite panel. Fitting is priced separately, because access and travel depend on the site.

Sign Manufacturing FAQs
Do you make signs for businesses outside Berkshire?
Yes. We are based in Bracknell, but we design, manufacture and install nationwide, and we have delivered projects internationally.
Can you reproduce a sign without the original artwork?
Yes. We can survey the existing signage and rebuild it to the same specification, even where the original artwork has been lost.
Can you match our brand colours?
Yes. Send us your brand guidelines and we will match colours, typefaces and logo proportions. Printing is done in house, so a colour can be adjusted without going back to an outside supplier.
How long does it take to make a sign?
It depends on the sign and whether advertisement consent is needed. Printed and vinyl work is the quickest, and a straightforward window graphics job can go from approval to fitted in as little as seven days. Illuminated built-up letters take longer because each letter is fabricated individually.
Can I visit the workshop?
Yes. Our workshop is at Unit 3, Longshot Lane, Bracknell, RG12 1RL, open Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, with weekends by appointment. You can look at vinyl and acrylic samples in daylight and talk to the people who will make and fit your sign.
Do you make signs for multi-site rollouts?
Yes. We survey each site individually, produce a drawing pack for each one, then manufacture the whole batch together so colours and materials match exactly.
